Our Vibe

Show up as you are. Every stage of the journey belongs here.

Lift people up, don't tear them down.

Leave every thread a little better than you found it.

Everyone who posts, comments, or reacts here agrees to these Community Guidelines, along with CalAI's Terms of Service. If you break them, we may remove content, restrict posting, or in serious cases, ban you from the community. Details on how that works are below.

1. Be cool to each other

There's a real human on the other end of every post. Disagree all you want just don't attack the person behind the opinion.

DON'T

  • Bully, body-shame, or drag anyone for where they're at in their journey. Everyone started somewhere.
  • Pick apart someone's spelling, grammar, or English — that's not what this space is for.
  • Pile on someone for posting something you've seen before or asking a basic question.
  • Harass another user.

Tip: Progress looks different for everyone. A comment that feels harmless to you might not land that way for someone else — read the room before you post.

2. Zero Tolerance for Hate

CalAI is not the place for hateful content, hate groups, or people promoting them.

DON'T

  • Make derogatory comments about someone's age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, weight, body type, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, race, ethnicity, nationality, immigration status, income, veteran status, or religion.
  • Promote or joke around with stereotypes about any group.
  • Post anything that incites hatred, bigotry, or physical harm toward a person or group including "jokes" that endorse violence.
  • Mock, deny, or minimize someone's identity or lived experience.

Warning: We take hate speech seriously and it will not be tolerated here.

3. Watch the Language

A little salt is fine — CalAI isn't trying to be a robot. But keep it something you'd be okay with a mod, a stranger, or your little cousin scrolling past.

DON'T

  • Use slurs or language that's sexually explicit, graphic, or vulgar.
  • Get creative with symbols or spacing to dodge the profanity filter — we'll still catch it, and trying to route around it is its own flag on your account.
  • Use usernames or profile content that are themselves profane or explicit.

We run a profanity filter, so some words get auto-censored — that's expected, not a bug.

4. Keep It Safe & Healthy

We want CalAI to support real, sustainable progress — not shortcuts that hurt people.

DON'T

  • Promote extreme calorie restriction, crash diets, or disordered eating — even framed as a "tip" or "what worked for me."
  • Post content that glamorizes extreme thinness or disordered eating behaviors (this includes thinspo-style content, "what I eat in a day" posts built around unsafe numbers, or dare-style challenges around lowest calories/longest fast).
  • Give out medical or nutrition advice you're not qualified to give, or diagnose another member's situation. If a question sounds medical, point them to a doctor or registered dietitian instead of guessing.
  • Glamorize or encourage self-harm in any way.

CalAI isn't a substitute for professional medical or nutrition guidance — for anyone, including you.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a medical professional or a crisis line you don't have to handle it alone.

5. No Misinformation

Bad health info spreads fast, we're trying to keep this a place people can actually trust.

DON'T

  • Post health or nutrition claims that aren't medically supported as if they're fact.
  • Share manipulated or out-of-context content (screenshots, stats, "studies") intended to mislead.
  • Spread false info about another member or group meant to stir up fear or hate.

When in doubt, it's fine to share what worked for you personally — just don't present personal experience as universal medical fact.

6. Keep It On-Topic

This is a CalAI space, for CalAI stuff.

DON'T

  • Compare or promote other tracking apps here — let's keep it CalAI.
  • Post spam, unsolicited DMs, or drop unrelated links and promo codes.
  • Advertise or solicit for a program, coaching service, product, or survey — those posts get removed regardless of intent.
  • Ask for donations or off-platform payment.

7. No Politics or Divisive Topics

There are plenty of places on the internet to debate politics — this isn't one of them. We want CalAI to be a space where people with different views can coexist around a shared goal: feeling good and being healthy.

DON'T

  • Post about politics, political figures, or political causes.
  • Bring up religion (talking about food traditions tied to your culture or faith is totally fine).
  • Start or pile onto arguments about hot-button topics unrelated to health and fitness.
  • Troll, flame-bait, or feed people who are trying to start something.

8. Be You

Show up as your real self.

DON'T

  • Impersonate another member or CalAI staff.
  • Catfish or mislead people about who you are.
  • Create multiple accounts to get around a ban or to manipulate a conversation.

9. Respect Privacy

Don't post anyone's personal info — yours or someone else's.

DON'T

  • Share full names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, or social handles (your own or anyone else's).
  • Post screenshots of DMs or private conversations without blocking out identifying info.
  • Ask other members to hand over their personal contact info.
